Algebra I Course Content

The following is a preliminary schedule for the teaching of Algebra I. The dates given are estimates; they may vary slightly within individual classes. For instance, a particular professor may decide to include section R.1; another professor may not give four in-class exams over the semester. These changes would cause the schedule to vary slightly. However, a student who keeps up with this schedule can expect to have covered the required material for the semester.

Please be aware that in addition to the assignments below and any quizzes your professor may give in class, there is an online component for this course. Your textbook should have come with a disk and information about coursecompass, where the online component is housed. Included in this package was your student access code. This code enables you to access this course online. You will also need your course id, which your instructor will provide.

There are several types of quizzes online: Prepararoty Quizzes, Reading Quizzes, and (regular) Quizzes. You may take either of the first two types as many times as you want , and they are untimed--you can take as long as you need to complete them. They are worth one (1) point each. The regular quizzes are times (15 minutes), and you may only submit them once, so prepare. They are worth ten (10) points each. Your instructor will tell you how they will figure into your grades. The regular quizzes will only be available from Friday through Monday each week.

If you did not purchase your text new last semester, you can get a student access code by purchasing it separately--either at the bookstore, or online at http://students.pearsoned.com.
