GENERAL INFORMATION Contact Mark Mauldin at 202-806-7099 for departmental scholarship applications and information. Scholarships and grant awards from Howard University funds are available only to students who complete the FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA). • The FAFSA may be secured from the Howard University Office of Financial Aid, high school guidance counselors, and public libraries. • The FAFSA must be submitted before February 1st. After analysis of the student's file by the Office of Financial Aid, recommended funding from the Music Department may be reduced depending on: • Other funding sources (family income, Federal grants, etc.). • University and Federal regulations. The Music Department does not award full scholarships. • Music Scholarships are awarded for one semester or one academic year at a time only. Students must re-apply for scholarships each year. The Music Department does not guarantee a specific scholarship amount from year to year. Financial aid is granted only to individuals who have been admitted by the University Office of Admissions and the Music Department. New Entrants Prospective students are eligible for Department of Music scholarships based on audition performance and recommendations from the faculty.
