White House Domestic Policy Conference
Dr. Bahiyyah Muhammad, assistant professor of sociology at Howard University, recently accepted an invitation to the White House Domestic Policy conference where she discussed her recently published book for children of incarcerated parents, “The Prison Alphabet: An Educational Coloring Book for Children of the Incarcerated”. Copies of the book are being made available at all national libraries. Dr. Muhammad also discussed her global research in Africa, UAE, Europe, Asia and the United States on children of incarcerated parents.
Dr. Muhammad highlighted her new study,“Far From the Tree,“ that focuses on the success stories among resilient children of the incarcerated. The White House has agreed to host a 3-day conference to focus on success stories among this hidden population.
