Accepted Students Day
Students who have been accepted into the university, but are still trying to decide if they will choose to become a Bison, should be sure to attend the university’s Accepted Students’ Day program.
The College offers a special program during Accepted Students’ Day designed to help students better understand the benefits of becoming a member of the COAS family.
Prospective students are invited to learn as much as they can about the College through the About COAS web page.
You are also invited to satisfy your curiosity about the various aspects of the university through the Explore HU portal.
Howard University welcomes students from all over the world.
Each year, the College offers a special orientation program designed to help students and parents successfully navigate the first year of college.
The College of Arts and Sciences offers special orientation sessions every summer before the new school year begins during Welcome Week/Bison Week, which begins when new students move into their residence halls.
The orientation includes an introduction to the College for parents and special workshops and other activities for students. Examples of some of the workshops that have been offered in the past include: study skills, stress management, scholarships, and life in the city.
Students should be aware that they must take a math placement exam during Welcome Week/Bison Week, and are required to take the online exam for practice at least once prior to coming to campus.
Prospective students are encouraged to review their housing options early in the decision-making phase of their college journey.
Please refer to the Residence Life website for information on housing options.
