Department of Biology Professor's Research featured by Science Magazine

Stacy Farina

Assistant Professor Stacy Farina, Department of Biology, produced research of exceptional quality on deep-sea coffin fish. Her research focused on the fish's ability to hold its breath underwater for long periods of time. This behavior was the first of its kind to be witnessed by scientists and it was so bizarre that the research was featured on Science Magazine's website in an article called "Spotted for the First Time: A Fish Holding its Breath Underwater" by Erica Tennenhouse. Within the article is a clickable link to an open access version of Professor Farina's full-length research paper. Please read Dr. Farina's work and help us congratulate her for being featured in this interesting article.
