The Flagship Network of Excellence (FNE) is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences (COAS), more specifically, under the umbrella of the Office of the Dean. The FNE’s projects and initiatives are led by the Office of Academic Student Affairs under the direction of Associate Dean Gladys M. Francis. The Flagship Network of Excellence’s efforts center on experiential learning, career-readiness, study abroad, inter/national internships, tailored mentoring programs, innovative research, hands- on leadership and learning workshops, global research opportunities. The Flagship Network of Excellence comprises an Excellence in Pedagogy, Internationalization, and Career-readiness (EPIC) High-Level Summit as well as a Flagship Student Ambassador Program that promotes high standards on mobility for the growth and development of COAS students at Howard University. The Flagship Network of Excellence builds community holistically, creates access, and opens spaces perceived as less accessible or reachable. These opportunities are meant to positively impact students who experience multiple (in)visible boundaries that confound their dreams and aspirations. The FNE fosters a strong village of successful COAS alumni that we invite back to campus as mentors to our students and invited speakers at our leadership talk series and high-level leadership summit. Thank you for supporting our Flagship Network of Excellence!
