Project Passport: A Initiative to Ensure Study Abroad

Dean Rubin Patterson's plan to secure a passport for every student within the College of Arts & Sciences went into play. After partnering with the Ralph J. Bunche Center, at Howard University, he was able to produce a plan to make it happen. Tonija Navas, Director of the HU Bunche International Center, visited the students of COAS to shed more light on why study abroad is important for scholars from the African Diaspora. "Being uncomfortable in another space and being able to overcome it is only going to prepare you for whatever field that you enter..." said Navas. After hearing her speak, students lined up for passport applications and asked endless questions about what their next steps to studying abroad would be.
