The College of Arts and Sciences Graduation Recognition Ceremonies
The COAS Graduation Recognition Ceremonies celebrate all graduating students in the College of Arts and Sciences. During these ceremonies, graduates will cross the stage and receive their diploma cover in recognition of their achievement.
Two ceremonies will be held—a morning ceremony and an afternoon ceremony. To participate in graduation festivities, graduates must be academically and financially cleared, and regalia is required for all ceremonies.
The Graduation Recognition Ceremonies for the College of Arts and Sciences will be held on:
Thursday, May 7th, 2026, In Burr Gymnasium.
The Morning Ceremony will be held from 8 am-10 am.
(Graduates MUST arrive in the Lower Gym by 7:00 am, processional begins at 7:30 am)
The Afternoon ceremony will be held from 1 pm-3 pm.
(Graduates MUST arrive in the Lower Gym by 12:00 pm, processional begins at 12:30 pm)

Graduating students will be able to pick up COAS ceremony tickets, and Latin honors cords and medallions on the following days:

COAS Graduation Rehearsals
Attending the graduation rehearsal is essential for familiarizing yourself with the proceedings, practicing key moments, and ensuring a smooth and memorable ceremony. Your participation not only contributes to the overall coordination but also enhances your confidence and readiness for the big day. Let's make the most out of this rehearsal to ensure our graduation is a success!
Rehearsal will take place on the following date and times below in Burr Gym (Lower Gym):

Your name will appear on your degree exactly as listed in the system.
- For legal name changes (adding middle name, changing spelling, etc.) submit this form through the Office of the Registrar.
- For minor changes (apostrophes, initials, etc.), email: graduation@howard.edu.
